Sister Rose Anne White - Obituary

Sister Rose Anne White, formerly Sister Andrew, a beloved member of the Ursulines of Brown County, passed away at the age of 86 on May 20, 2025 at Mount Notre Dame Health Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born in Cincinnati on June 17, 1938, she is the daughter of the late Harry R. White and Mary Alice O'Neill White of Chattanooga TN, sister of the late Thomas W. White (Monica) of Houston, TX, and Mary Ellen White Operchal (Thomas) of Marathon, FL. She is also survived by a niece, several nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.

Roseanne entered the Ursulines of Brown County in 1956 and made final profession in 1962.  She earned a BA in Mathematics at the College of Mt. St. Joseph and a BA in Music from St. Joseph College, Rensselaer, In.  She earned her M. Ed from Xavier University. Her teaching career began at the School of the Brown County Ursulines where she taught for 7 years.  Her next ministry was at St. Vivian School in Cincinnati, becoming the principal after her first year of teaching.  In 1975 she transitioned to Chatfield College as an instructor and administrator.  Roseanne also served the Ursuline Community as Development Director and Treasurer.  In 1989 she became the Finance Director for the Comboni Missionaries for the next 18 years. In 2007 she shared her talents with the Inner Parish Ministry in Newtown, OH until 2017.

Roseanne also gave service to the Boards of Trustees of Ursuline Academy and Chatfield College.  She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching games with her Mt. Notre Dame fan club.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mt Notre Dame Health Center, 699 E. Columbia Ave. on June 4th at 10:00 am. The burial will be at the Ursuline cemetery in Saint Martin, OH that afternoon at 1:30 pm. The mass will be livestreamed on YouTube.
