The Ursulines of Brown County

An Ohio Historical Marker will be dedicated

Friday, September 17, 2021 at 12:30pm

The ceremony will be held at the entrance to the Ursuline/Chatfield College campus:

20918 St. Rt. 251, Saint Martin, OH 45118

On July 21, 1845, a group of eleven Ursuline Sisters from northern France arrived in Saint Martin, Ohio. Their goal was to provide education for children. The sisters quickly established their boarding and day school and began classes in October of that year. Their identity so united with the spirit of their new environment that they became legally known as the Ursulines of Brown County.

Covid protocols adopted by Chatfield College requesting visitors to wear masks and socially distance will be honored.
