Sister Sandy Bates, O.S.U., Ursuline Sister of Brown County died on August 1, 2015. Daughter of Charles E. Bates Sr. and the late Joan Eggleston Bates, dear sister of Charles Bates Jr. (Christine), Thomas Bates (Maureen), Timothy Bates (Lisa), Bonita Roberts (Jack Isleib), Patrick Bates (Rhonda). Also survived by nieces and nephews, Andrea Roberts Jones (Brent), Ellen Bates, Kameron Bates, Nathan Bates, Emily and Lilian Bates and Hannah Bates, great niece and nephew, Riley and Logan Jones and her Brown County Ursuline Community.

Sr. Sandy was born February 6, 1949. She made her finale profession as an Ursuline of Brown County on August 11, 1973. Sr. Sandy’s current ministry was co-director of Hope Emergency, in rural Brown County. Previous ministries included First Step Cleaning Company, Guardian Angels School and other parishes and schools. Visitation Tuesday August 4, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Chapel, 20860 St. Rt. 251 St. Martin, Ohio 45118.
